I’ve worked in different print shops over the years. There was a rotary print shop in Michigan, then a rotary print shop for brokers in California, then a print broker in Georgia, then a retail print shop in Alabama, then a flat-sheet printer to the trade in Arizona, then went on to build marketing & websites for the print industry. I’ve settled in now as a sales rep for a software company providing automation solutions for printers at Aleyant. I’ve done reception, billing, accounts payables, customer service, executive assistant doing data analysis, management, website design & development, SEO, marketing, link-building, and content development. I’ve seen all gambits of a printshop, and know that not all print shops run efficiently. When you are behind the eight-ball, it’s difficult to carve out time to see what’s out there to make things more efficient. There isn’t enough time in the day! Am I right?
Here’s what a day in the life of this software for printers sales rep looks like:
- Get some coffee
- Open online chat
- Open VOIP
- Sign into CRM
- Prepare any estimates outstanding
- Refill coffee
- Read & respond to email
- See if you’re needed on Teams by co-workers
- Look at CRM to start reaching out to prospects and follow-up on open opportunities
- Look for more opportunities in the marketplace: LinkedIn, print companies
- Refill coffee
- In between all of the above: give product demos
I’d love to hear what your day looks like!
